What is hp sa ?

Hp server automation is automation tool for datacenter operations such as  audit, complaince , pathching , managing servers , install software's on n number of servers at a time.

Basically hp sa has 4 components. They are. 1.model repository 2.infrastructure components 3. Slice 4. Boot manager .  These components can be installed on a same server or can be installed on different servers .

How To Retrieve all the custom attributes of the server in HP SA

1. Check the  managed server in HP SA has agent tools.
2. The Agent tools will be available in the /opt/opsware/agent_tools folder
3. Run the get_cust_attributes.sh  or get_cust_attributes.bat  script to retrieve all the custom attributes of the server,
4. It show the custom attribute name and values

HOW TO SET A CUSTOM ATTRIBUTE TO A SERVER THROUGH OGFS IN HPSA

HOW TO SET A CUSTOM ATTRIBUTE TO A SERVER

 1. Login to the OGFS console in HP SA or open the putty and provide HPSA core name  with the port number as 2222.

2. you will prompted for the SA user name and password.

3. By default you will be login to the home directory of yours in ogfs.

4.  cd /opsw/Server/@

5.  type ls command or ls|grep "provide the servername"

6. if the server is available ,go ahead and set the custom attribute to that server
